The Living Care management team is committed to the mission of meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of seniors in our community by providing ministry, housing and aging services.

Calvin Groenenberg, Executive Director
Calvin Groenenberg came to Living Care in 2002 and is only the 3rd Executive Director in Living Care’s 60+ year history. Cal has his master’s degree in public administration from the University of Washington Daniel J. Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. During his tenure here, Cal has helped guide this organization through many seasons of growth and exciting changes, always keeping our mission and vision as driving motivators. When he is not at work, Cal and his wife enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, especially at their family cabin in Birch Bay, WA. Cal finds it very rewarding to see the smiles on our resident’s faces when we talk with them and he appreciates how much our residents care about and interact with staff.

Dennis Malgesini, Administrator
Dennis Malgesini joined the Living Care team in 1983 with an associate degree in applied science and data processing from Yakima Valley College. Dennis started as our Information Services Administrator and later transitioned to his current role of Campus Administrator. A lifelong resident of the Yakima Valley, Dennis plays around with farming and grows pumpkins every year, some of which adorn our campus each fall season. 15 of Dennis’ relatives have at one time been employed by Living Care. Some of the things that Dennis loves about Living Care are the family atmosphere amongst staff and the way the staff shows genuine care and concern for each resident. It’s not just a job, we are a family.

Jenny Ford, Director of Nursing Services
Jenny Ford started her career at Living Care in 2003 as an NAC. Jenny worked to become a certified phlebotomist, but never left Living Care. She attended Heritage University and Lower Columbia College, earing her Associate of Arts and Associate of Direct Science-Nursing. During her tenure at Living Care, Jenny has worked as an NAC, Medication Nurse, Therapy Coordinating Nurse and Assistant Director of Nursing. Jenny says that Living Care is like a second home to her and she loves being able to serve all of our residents. In her spare time, Jenny loves to throw over-the-top gatherings, she loves decorating, cooking, baking and gardening. We welcomed her as our new DNS in November of 2020.

Michelle Cruz, Director of Assisted Living
Michelle Cruz has been a vital part of the Living Care team since she came to us in 1995. During her tenure here she has held many positions, some of which are charge nurse, treatment nurse and nurse manager. Michelle has also played a vital role in Living Care’s commitment to ongoing training as director of our NAC program. Currently Michelle serves our residents as director of our assisted living apartment building. She and her team have helped build and maintain the excellent reputation that our assisted living facility has in the Yakima Valley, creating a safe and nurturing environment for the 40+ residents that live in this apartment building at any given time.

Eva Lounsbury, Director of Resident Services & Marketing
Eva Lounsbury joined the Living Care management team in 2016. Prior to coming to Living Care, Eva worked for 15 years in the private sector “climbing the corporate ladder.” Despite the success of her career, Eva’s heart longed for more, which brought her to Living Care as Director or Residents Services for our independent apartments. When she is not at work, Eva is mom to two dogs and a turtle and loves spending time with her extended family, especially in the mountains. Eva appreciates being part of an organization that is faith based and where she can utilize her talents in business and administration as well as fulfill her desire to love on people and compassionately “do life” alongside so many wonderful residents and their families.

Travis Walker, Director of Food Services
Travis Walker came to Living Care as Director of Food Services in 2016. Previously, Travis managed a long list of restaurants within the Boeing Company. Coming from this fast paced environment, Travis joined the Living Care team with energy, enthusiasm and fresh ideas. Travis grew up in eastern Washington and enjoys spending time in the great outdoors (hiking, backpacking and enjoying the mountains). Although he can create culinary masterpieces that could compete in any high end culinary environment, his personal guilty pleasure snack food is fresh chips and salsa. Travis and his team strive to make every event and special function at Living Care an experience the residents and their families will not forget.

Jennifer Vimont, Director of Activities
Jennifer Vimont started working at Living Care in 2004. She’s been our fitness instructor, worked in the activities department and now is our Director of Activities. She and her staff plan and facilitate all of the resident activities for the campus – things like arts and crafts, exercise programs, off campus excursions, shopping trips, musical guests, etc. Jennifer has a much coveted talent of being able to envision a themed event and bring it to life right before our eyes. She’s transformed our Meyer Auditorium into Oz complete with a yellow brick road, Candy Land, a Jungle, Cape Cod, etc. Staff and residents wait with eager anticipation to see what she’ll come up with next. When she’s not buzzing around the Living Care campus, Jennifer’s favorite place to be is with her grandchildren.

Vicky Flint, Director of Housekeeping & Laundry
Vicky Flint began her career at Living Care in 1982. Over her many years here, she’s worked as ward secretary, nursing assistant, activity director and in the kitchen. However, the majority of her tenure has been as Director of Housekeeping & Laundry. Vicky and her staff do an excellent job keeping our campus clean and presentable. A lesser known fact about Vicky is that she loves to sing and previously sang in an Aeolian swing choir. Many of her family members have worked for Living Care over the years (several still do). Vicky says that her Living Care family has truly become a part of her. Work is family to her, and this is evident in the way she interacts with everyone on our campus.

Steve George, Director of Facilities
Steve George joined the Living Care team in 2020 bringing with him decades of experience in construction, management and other related fields. Steve is a jack of all trades and is motivated by opportunities to help others. After getting involved in the sport of volleyball with his children, Steve discovered a passion for coaching and went on to serve for a time as a volleyball coach at both the high school and collegiate levels. As a result, Steve brings a player-coach approach to managing his staff, which is a great asset to our Living Care management team. When he’s not working, Steve enjoys spending time with his family or any opportunity to go sailing, fishing and scuba diving. He’s logged over 1,000 dives and is a certified wreck diver and rescue diver. Clearly, Steve loves the water!
